Terms and conditions
What Rentolio is, what it is not, and what is expected of the people using it.

What this is
Rentolio is a private application for keeping a shared record of a rented home: its bills, its rent, its meter readings and the people involved. Accounts are created by the household's admin. There is no public sign-up, and using it means an account was given to you.
It does not move money
This is the most important thing on this page. Rentolio is a record, not a payment service. It never initiates, receives, holds or verifies a payment, and it has no connection to any bank.
The payment sheet displays a beneficiary's IBAN so you can copy it into your own banking app. Marking something paid records your statement that you paid it. Neither proves a transfer happened. Where the app and your bank disagree, your bank is right.
Your account
- Keep your password to yourself. Anyone signed in as you can do everything you can do.
- Choose a new password if you think someone else has learned it. Doing so signs out every other session on the account.
- The admin can reset a password, change roles and permissions, and delete accounts. Nobody else can.
What you put into it
You are responsible for what you upload and record, and for having the right to do so. Do not upload documents belonging to people who have not agreed to it. Bear in mind that uploaded bills are sent to Google for automatic reading, as described in the privacy notice.
Everyone attached to a property can see everything recorded against it. Do not put anything in a note or a bill that you would not want the others on that property to read.
The boards
Your property's board is between the people in it. The renters and landlords boards are not: a post there is visible to every account in the app with that role, across every property, under your name and picture. Post accordingly.
The admin can read every board and remove any post from any of them without notice. Nothing you write here is private from them.
Be civil. Do not post someone else's personal details, and do not use a board to harass anyone. You can delete your own posts at any time.
Accuracy
Amounts read from a document are extracted automatically and can be wrong. You are shown what was read and asked to confirm it before anything is saved, and that confirmation is yours. Exchange rates come from the National Bank of Romania and may be a day behind. Totals, forecasts and consumption figures are conveniences, not statements of account — the bill from your supplier is the statement of account.
The renter score
The score describes how promptly things have been marked paid in this app. It is calculated from dates recorded here and nothing else, it stays within the property it belongs to, and it is shared with no one outside it.
It is not a credit score, a reference, or an assessment of anyone as a tenant, and it should not be used as one — for a tenancy decision, a dispute, or anything with consequences beyond this household. A payment recorded late may simply have been recorded late.
Availability
Rentolio is provided as it is, without any guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted, or free of faults. It depends on services run by others — hosting, a database, an SMS provider, a document reader — any of which may fail or change. Keep your own copies of anything you would be unwilling to lose.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the people who provide this application are not liable for loss arising from its use, from data recorded incorrectly, from a notification or SMS that failed to arrive, or from it being unavailable. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Ending it
The admin may remove an account at any time. Ask them to remove yours whenever you like. Bills already uploaded stay with the property so its financial history remains whole.
Changes
These terms may change as the application does. The date at the top says when they last did.
These terms are written in plain language to set out how the application is meant to be used. They are not legal advice and have not been reviewed by a lawyer. If Rentolio is ever used beyond a private household, have them reviewed by someone qualified first.
